Mike T. has been around Excel Construction his entire life as his father, Mike A., founded the business in 1983. Mike has worked as a general laborer, office assistant, expediter, and most recently as a Project Engineer/Manager. Mike attended the University of Colorado where he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduating Mike enlisted in the US Army pursuing a lifelong dream of becoming a Special Forces operator. After 5 years of service Mike was honorably discharged and immediately started working for Blackbird Technologies. Mike spent the next five years working in defense contracting where he supported US combat forces in Afghanistan as well as in the continental US. While working at Blackbird, Mike was able to complete his MS in Management from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Mike went on to earn a Master Certificate in Applied Project Management from Villanova University and has since acquired the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential . In April of 2015 Mike, his wife Stephanie and their two sons Sterling and Stanton relocated from greater Nashville, TN to Anchorage where they plan to remain.
